AP is Making Spirits Bright

The holidays look a lot different this year, but the generosity of Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) employees is one thing that has not changed. AP loves to give back, especially around this time of year. In true 2020 fashion, we decided to switch things up a bit. This year we chose to partner with Parents In Community Action (PICA) and support their Wish Tree Project. PICA is a federally designated grantee that operates Head Start programs in Hennepin County. For more than 50 years, PICA has provided services to low-income families, pregnant women, infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

AP continually seeks ways to give back and pay-it-forward through community service. With a mission of building trust, communities and people, AP focuses on projects that enhance communities where they live and work. AP’s core values reach beyond their approach to delivering quality work to their clients. Across the country, employees exemplify AP’s commitment to bringing positive measurable change to the communities in which they live and build. Employees at each regional office make a lasting impact by supporting local charitable and community organizations they are passionate about. Every year, hundreds of AP employees generously donate their talents, their energy and thousands of hours of their time to charitable organizations.

These are unusual times for everyone, and low-income families are especially vulnerable. We initially pledged to support 15 children; however, thanks to AP employees’ extreme generosity, we were able to support an additional ten kids! With nearly $1,000 donated, we were able to purchase 80+ special requested gifts and essential needs for 25 children. Peppa Pig, Barbies and Leapfrog Learning were a resounding request. Over 15 rolls of wrapping paper later, all the presents were wrapped and dropped off at PICA with masked smiles from ear to ear.

Holiday gifts are often a luxury that most families who struggle with the devastating effects of poverty cannot afford. AP came together (albeit virtually) in full force to lighten the burden and make many wishes come true this holiday season!
