The 22,900-square-foot single-story ambulatory surgical center is in Downtown Dallas on Baylor Scott & White Health’s main campus at 4020 Junius Street. The project was constructed of steel with aluminum curtain wall and storefront, metal composite panels, and an exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS) comprising the building skin. Sitework for the project also included two underground detention systems and an additional paved parking lot for shared use amongst Baylor Scott & White facilities.
The project’s interior included eight operating rooms, two procedure rooms, 29 patient care units, endoscopy and sterile processing departments, and ancillary staff-support areas.
“Baylor Scott & White’s Downtown Dallas hospital campus is a key player in the medical community, and it is an honor to be tasked with adding a new building for USPI/Tenet Healthcare on the campus, enabling the facility to serve additional patients,” said Zack Rogers, Project Executive. “Through our deep relationship with USPI and previous success in this sector, we want to help healthcare professionals continue to save lives by providing a medical facility that brings the community quality surgical care.”
AP has previously worked with USPI, and this facility marks AP’s sixth successful project within Texas. Most recently, AP completed a two-story 23,568-square-foot facility medical office building and ambulatory surgical center in Southlake, Texas, named Baylor Scott & White SurgiCare Southlake. AP’s additional current healthcare work in Texas includes expansion of the Emergency Room (ER) at Methodist Landmark Hospital in northwest San Antonio, the Cross Creek Behavioral Center in Austin and the Heritage Oaks Dental Office in Marble Falls, with all recently starting construction.
Grace Herbert Curtis Architects designed the project. Vidaurri Management Group is the owner representative for USPI/Tenet Healthcare.
