AP partnered with the McBurney to design and install their patented gasification technology, including the gasifier, thermal oxidizer and stoker grate, which utilizes egg layer manure (ELM) from the neighboring chicken coups as its fuel source. The process will gasify 8 tons of ELM per hour and generate 3 MW of electricity annually. The nutrients (ash) are also recovered and sold as a feed supplement. EnergyWorks intends to duplicate these facilities throughout the United States.
