CHI - St. Catherine's Hospital

Colorado Springs, Colorado
Total Project Cost:
$12.6 million
65,000 SF
A&P Role:

An owner directed build-out of 64 patient rooms and ancillary spaces, the St. Catherine Hospital commission focused on improving the patient care and recovery experience by providing comforting “hotel quality” accommodations within the hospital facility. The new patient rooms are more than twice the size of the old rooms and have increased access to natural light through larger windows. Soothing colors, daybed sofas and individualized thermal control all enhance the patient/visitor experience.

Construction implementation was complicated by the fact that the core/shell space to be built-out was located directly above the hospital’s maternity services department making sensitivity to noise, dust, vibrations and disruptions more critical than is typical for unoccupied spaces.
