MultiCare Gig Harbor Multi-Specialty Medical Office Building

Rushforth Construction, a subsidiary of A&P, built this 3-story medical office building at the same time as an adjacent mall, requiring close coordination of both projects’ designs, utilities and construction schedules. During construction, complications arose when winter rain led to heavy storm water runoff from undeveloped sites, but the team’s innovative solution overcame the difficult conditions and kept the project moving forward. One of the building's unique features is its steel moment frame, which is uniquely engineered to resist seismic activity. The frame, which contains 600 tons of structural steel, uses heavy steel columns with very small footprints that also maximize the building’s usable floor space.
