Originally built in the 1920s, this beautifully restored historic building was formerly the headquarters of Mobil Oil Corporation. When it opened in 1922 it was Dallas’ first skyscraper and the tallest building west of the Mississippi. AP’s complete renovation transformed this 29-story historical structure into a unique boutique hotel featuring 200 guest rooms and 130 extended-stay suites. AP worked with the Dallas Historical Society throughout to ensure the historical significance of the building was preserved. The project included creating a new three-story atrium and hotel entrance, adding new elevators, and reconstructing the interior walls, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. The existing lobby elevator was preserved, and a pre-cast stone exterior material was installed to match the existing exterior sandstone. During the interior demolition, specially designed temporary material hoists were created to facilitate materials management and to preserve the integrity of the historic exterior.
