This new mixed-use development in the sought-after SouthPark area of Charlotte will include three vertically integrated buildings: two wood-framed apartment buildings, with 239 apartment homes, and a seven-level precast parking structure with 561 spaces. The two apartment buildings include a five-story building with 7,500 square feet of retail over one level of podium, and a three-story building over an underground, two-story, cast-in-place concrete podium with parking for 228 vehicles and 14,000 square feet of retail space. The community will include a 4,900-square-foot fitness center with a podium-level pool.

Also under construction on the site is a five-story, class A office tower that will connect to the parking structure through a second-floor courtyard arcade. The tower’s upper four stories will be office space while the ground floor will include a branch bank, retail space, restaurants and a landscaped dining terrace. All lobbies will be finished in high-end stone flooring and wood-paneled walls. The exterior of the steel-frame building includes Rockcast masonry veneer, stucco and an insulated reflective glass skin. 

The team has solved several significant challenges with space and logistics on this tight urban site in a developed neighborhood, with four buildings under construction at the same time, all of them with aggressive schedules.  

Major streetscape and landscape renovations will tie the new Sharon Square development into the existing upscale neighborhood. The site also includes a recently completed Whole Foods Market and Phillips Place retail, and an existing retail area, bank, and senior living center.
