Tacoma Goodwill Industries Milgard Work Opportunity Center

Tacoma, Washington
Total Project Cost:
$13.1 million
63,000 SF
A&P Role:

This new four-story facility provides job training and placement services for people in need, housing a youth career development center, classrooms and administrative offices. From preconstruction through closeout there was close collaboration between the construction team, the design team and the owner to coordinate and evaluate systems in real time and solve issues as they arose. During construction, AP boosted the fundraising efforts of this non-profit by implementing a very successful gifts-in-kind program that brought in over $80,000. The building includes many sustainable elements that reduce the consumption of energy and water, and features a living wall of native plant species.

“I feel the success of this project can be attributed to the philosophy and talents of the people of Rushforth Construction (AP) and their team members, from the start of preconstruction through construction and project close-out. BCRA looks forward to the next opportunity we can all work together again.” — Robert P. Katica, AIA, Principal/Sr PM, BCRA
