This project involved a close collaboration between the client, the construction team and the Port of Olympia. The restaurant was built on a hollow-core concrete plank and galvanized steel pier provided by the port, which caused major challenges during the installation of plumbing waste systems. Penetrations for floor drains, floor sinks, and water closets had to be closely coordinated and located, and the main waste lines from the kitchen had to penetrate the seawall to connect to the grease interceptor. The project team overcame the difficulties by combining their efforts and working closely together.
