Emerson Wellness & Clark Aquatic Center

This full-service fitness and aquatic facility features a swimming pool, spa, lockers, space for weight equipment and exercise classes, and other health and wellness amenities.  Before construction began, however, the owner was facing substantially higher construction costs because of the site's unstable soils, and the only option appeared to be a scaled-down facility that would be built in stages.  Rushforth Construction resolved this issue by working closely with the architect to relocate the proposed facility to another area of the site, allowing the project to be built as designed—and under budget. Rushforth also suggested the addition of several sustainable design elements, at minimal cost, to allow the facility to achieve LEED Silver certification.
