The project initially aimed to refresh a 50-year-old community center but evolved into a new 35,000-square-foot facility to better serve the community. It now includes a 12,000-square-foot branch library through a partnership with Anythink Libraries.
The shared building features a gymnasium, walking track, dance studios, a boxing gym, community spaces, a coffee lounge, a teen area, and a licensed preschool. The library is integrated within the main hall and offers a reading room, maker spaces, an outdoor meditation garden, and access to a shared amphitheater.
Constructed on drilled piers with a structural steel superstructure and brick veneer exterior, the facility includes a signature monitor roof designed with a Kalwall system for natural light. Each section of the center has dedicated spaces and shared amenities like mechanical rooms, public restrooms, and outdoor features.
