April 13th marked the 3rd year that AP sponsored the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s (HSBV) Puttin’ On the Leash Gala. Project Coordinator Priscilla Dodds and Regional Controller Christine Heath (pictured above) attended “The Pet” Gala at the CU Events Center in Boulder, CO, along with about 1,300 other HSBV supporters.
“Contributing to causes such as this one is so important to AP’s mission of supporting the communities in which we build,” said Heath. “We’re a community builder, and that means giving back in any way we can.”
This is the biggest fundraising event of the year for HSBV, as the organization relies solely on donations rather than taxpayer funding. The gala featured 400 silent auction items and a number of adoptable pets. A game of “Heads or Tails” was played to win an all-inclusive trip for two to Antigua. For every ticket purchased to play the game, one kitten or puppy received vital spay or neuter surgery to start them on their journey to finding a new home in Boulder Valley.
