Dallas, TX (November 21, 2019) – Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) helped raise over $90,000 at the inaugural “One Day for One Heart” event in support of the One Heart Project. The event, held Thursday, November 21, offered a challenging 13-station clay-shooting tournament as well as a catered lunch, a raffle of various items donated by sponsors, and a live-auction of once-in-a-lifetime experience packages including a VIP duck hunting trip. Following the auction, Mack White, a man whose life was radically changed by the One Heart Effect and an actor in the upcoming One Heart Project movie, spoke about his life choices and circumstances that eventually led him to a three-year sentence in juvenile prison. He explained how the support efforts of the organization’s founders led to the creation of the One Heart Project, which provides a true second chance for incarcerated and at-risk youth across the country.
The One Heart Project was launched in 2009 as an initiative of Heart of a Champion Foundation, a national 501(c)3 non-profit public charity. The project is designed to coordinate a national network of partners and the public in the collaborative effort to provide youth with guidance and support throughout their journey of transformation through two initiatives:
In addition, One Heart has been a benefactor of AP’s Charity Golf Classic for the past two years which has offered more fundraising opportunities by AP and its partners directly. AP has since become a true advocate for the One Heart Project in their efforts in fulfilling the organization’s mission through fundraising and volunteer opportunities.
