Minneapolis, MN (April 2019) Engineers Without Borders-USA University of Minnesota Chapter (EWB-USA UMN) works to connect students within the College of Science and Engineering and across the University with engineering and construction opportunities that serve underprivileged communities in many parts of the world. The students strive to increase clean water accessibility and to improve the quality of life in these communities through the implementation of engineered projects that are proven to be environmentally and economically sustainable.
Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) partnered with GT Tool, Inc. and Acme Tool 220 to provide students a project toolbox. This donation, along with the donation of three more toolboxes will allow students the opportunity to simultaneously work on multiple construction sites at one time. Students were provided battery operated tools, which are a key component as electricity in the remote communities is generally nonexistent. AP is proud to support the University of Minnesota, Engineers Without Borders and the students who have donated their time and services to this meaningful cause.
