Fort Collins, CO (March 19, 2019)  – When Sr. Preconstruction Manager Anthony Durst first learned of the McBackpack program several years ago, he knew AP would want to help the Poudre Community. Since then, we have helped pack thousands of bags meant to supplement food for Poudre School District students who were not receiving adequate food at home over weekends.

“We try to make sure we are there to help each week, even if it’s just one person,” said Durst. “Most weeks we have more than one employee there. Helping these students is something we have become very passionate about.”  Since AP has been involved in the program, more than 36,000 bags have been packed and provided to students across Poudre School District.

The McBackpack program has been operating since 2007 and started small in a private home, only filling a handful of bags. Today the program receives a grant from Larimer County and private donations to deliver bags all over Poudre School District. With the help of volunteers, nearly 400 bags a week are packed and distributed.
