Peoria, Ariz. (July 25, 2019) – Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) recently rolled out the red carpet to welcome Academies of Math and Science (AMS) Peoria Advanced K-7 students to their new 48,000 sf school. The project, located at 7785 W. Peoria Ave., Peoria, AZ 85345, will officially welcome students to their first day of classes today.
AP’s scope included the modernization and addition to a 8.5 acre campus. With over 18,500 sf of new space for administration and classrooms, the school can accommodate up to 900 students and will include K-8 in the 2020-2021 school year. The remaining 30,000 sf was the renovation of the existing modular buildings, multi-purpose room, science lab and music room. The project site had improvements as well, including a new playground and full turf field.
“As with any school project, it’s exciting to welcome students to a brand-new space. Adding in the red-carpet event really helps ease any transition that some kids fear,” said Curtis McFarland, K-12 Project Executive at Adolfson & Peterson Construction. “AP’s roots in the education market are founded in the belief that these kids are our future, let’s build something great.”
