TEXO Awards AP with Distinguished Building Award and Casey Mitschke with Magnolia Award

Dallas, TX (December 12, 2019) – TEXO announced their 2019 Distinguished Building Award recipients earlier this year and Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) was acknowledged for their work on Wise Health Surgical Hospital located at 7218 Crawford Road in Argyle, TX. AP was selected as the first-place winner in the Health Care 2 ($10-$30M) category and was recognized at the TEXO Holiday & Awards Gala on December 12, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Dallas along with other local firms who illustrated exceptional qualities during the building process.

In addition, AP’s Preconstruction Manager, Casey Mitschke, was awarded the 2019 TEXO Magnolia Award. This award recognizes an outstanding woman in construction who excels in her work and is proactive about making a difference in the industry and in the community. Casey exemplifies what it means to be committed, strong and hardworking, and she has an unmatched dedication to her job, the younger women in the company and her passion to give back to the greater good. Outside of work, she dedicates a large portion of her time to volunteering at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children through various fundraisers and activities.

“We are beyond proud of Casey winning the Magnolia Award this year,” said Corbett Nichter, AP’s Executive Vice President and COO. “Following an internship with AP years ago, Casey was hired full-time and immediately hit the ground running becoming a valued member of the preconstruction team. She has an outstanding work-ethic and focuses on creating and maintaining a positive team environment which directly impacts the unique culture and performance that drives AP. In addition, I can’t say enough about our project team who put so much of themselves into this project. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity and recognition as it highlights our commitment to be a successful national builder.”

Developed by Castle Development and managed by Wise Health System, the project includes a 44,782-sf single story, ground up Ambulatory Surgical Center, complete with an emergency department and full-service imaging including MRI, CT Scans and X-Rays. Wise Health Surgical Hospital provides six surgical suites and twelve patient beds and maintains a primary focus on orthopedics and spine surgery. Architectural features include a drive-up porte-cochere, an inviting, spacious lobby and reception area, and the campus also houses a Fit-N-Wise physical therapy facility and other medical offices. The Wise Health Emergency Center & iCare Urgent Care was also built on-site during the last six months of hospital construction which provides residents of the surrounding area immediate medical services.

The TEXO Distinguished Building Awards embody the skill, commitment and passion that TEXO members have for construction. Winning an award through TEXO automatically qualifies projects for the State and National Award competitions for both ABC and Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).
