Inspiring the Next Generation: Mandaree High School Students Visit AP Job Sites

Empowering Local Youth Through Career Exploration

Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) recently had the privilege of welcoming students from Mandaree High School for a behind-the-scenes look at two of our current projects serving the MHA Nation – West Segment – Mandaree community: the James G. Johnson Community Center and the Mandaree Health Clinic.

The tour provided an opportunity to connect with the students, share our passion for building, and introduce them to the many career paths available in construction.

Giving Back Through Education

During their time on site, students met with project team members who shared what it’s like to work in the field, from safety and planning to design and execution. We also discussed the wide range of opportunities within the construction industry, including skilled trades, project management, estimating, and safety.

Our goal was to inspire students to see themselves in these roles. We want them to understand the value of what we build and feel empowered to pursue careers that support their own communities.

“It’s important for students to see that these careers are not only within reach, but also make a real impact,” said Dan Anderson, Project Executive for the Tribal Market Sector at AP. “Many of the facilities we help build are designed for their families, neighbors, and future generations. When students see how their talents can directly benefit their communities, the work becomes more personal, purposeful, and fulfilling.”

A Long-Term Commitment

At AP, giving back goes beyond a single project. We believe in building lasting relationships and creating meaningful opportunities, whether that means employing local trade partners, offering internships, or introducing students to the industry.

Opportunities like this remind us that what we build today shapes tomorrow. We are grateful to Mandaree High School and MHA Nation for the opportunity to connect with students and showcase the possibilities a career in construction can offer.
