PLANO, Texas – (Oct. 4, 2021) – Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP), a top national construction management firm and general contractor, and Reunion Rehabilitation Hospitals, a system of state-of-the-art inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, today announced the groundbreaking of a new location in Plano with support from America Development & Investments LLC (ADI), a leading Dallas-based healthcare real estate developer.
Located on the northwest corner of Mapleshade Lane and Highway 190, the hospital will offer inpatient rehabilitation care for people with debilitating illnesses and injuries such as stroke and brain injury, as well as other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
“The north Dallas suburbs continue to experience rapid population growth, and AP is proud to play a part in building vital facilities like Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital Plano that provide area residents with treatment options close to where they live and work,” said Bob Lemke, vice president of operations for AP. “The groundbreaking is the first step in our collaboration with ADI to ensure a precise, safe and timely construction process.”
Recent U.S. Census Bureau estimates show Dallas-Fort Worth as one of the nation’s fastest growing regions. Despite this steady expansion, there is a lack of modern rehabilitation hospitals in the area, meaning this new Plano location will make a powerful impact in the community.
Designed by BSA LifeStructures, the 55,617-SF custom-built hospital will be built on 2.5 acres and include site improvements. The hospital will feature 48 patient rooms, large, hi-tech therapy gyms and an outdoor courtyard for relaxation and therapeutic activities. The hospital will also feature day-room areas and spaces for physical therapy, staff amenities, food service and dining, and administrative offices.
“The design of the facility is a testament to Reunion Rehabilitation Hospitals’ dedication to upholding a high standard of personalized care for all patients,” said Craig Puccetti, principal with BSA LifeStructures. “The facility has been developed to accommodate active patient care and organized to support ease of access to services and the utmost convenience to patients, families, providers, and staff.”
Slated to open in early Fall 2022, Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital Plano will provide comprehensive inpatient physical-medicine rehabilitation therapies using results-oriented, individualized plans of care for patients in the Plano area. The new hospital will ultimately provide patients with best-in-class care provided by the finest caregivers in a unique, community-centric hospital environment.
Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital Plano will also create an opportunity for DFW residents to build fulfilling careers joining a team of excellent clinicians and support staff, including specialty-trained physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians.
Reunion Rehabilitation Hospital Plano is one in a series of inpatient rehabilitation facilities that Reunion plans to develop across the country. In addition to the new Plano hospital, ADI is developing a 49,000-square-foot hospital in Meridian, Colorado, and a 51,000-square-foot hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
