Tempe, Ariz. (December 19, 2019) – Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) got into the spirit of the season this week by surprising 670 students with pizza lunch and stockings filled to the brim with goodies.
The idea started as a simple search to find a school community that needed some extra help around the holidays. In this search, AP found a post on Donors Choose from Madrid Neighborhood School’s nurse, Elecia Horton.
“Since we are a new school and only 2 years old, I am trying give all of our students a Christmas they will remember forever. Many of our students will not receive anything for the holidays and I would like to change that.”
AP immediately started an internal drive to collect stocking stuffers for the 670-student body and purchased enough of the remaining supplies so that each student would have at least six items.
The surprise was sweetened when AP’s non-profit partner, Back 2 School Bounty, joined in and offered to provide pizza for the school.
With blue santa hats and 90 pizzas in tow, team members stopped in every K-8 class to serve up slices and holiday wishes!
