The Minnesota BioBusiness Development Center is a community to help drive the development of the bioscience industry by providing affordable office and lab space for small firms near bioscience assets in Rochester, MN. The facility provides more than 150,000 sf of office and lab space. The project included reclamation of a brownfield site, with remediation of contamination from a former dry-cleaning business. Green features of the LEED Silver Certified facility include passive solar design through window selection and placement, a green roof on the adjacent parking ramp, use of local construction materials and an innovative recovery wheel system to condition the incoming air.
