Our core values at AP reach beyond delivering quality work to our clients. The entire team is committed to bringing positive, measurable change to the communities where we live and build. AP fosters an environment where employees are encouraged to share their time, talents and treasure to make a difference in our society.
In September, we hosted our first-annual company-wide “Day of Giving” program across all AP regions, offices and communities. We are excited to share that, together, more than 700 team members volunteered more than 3,000 hours and donated more than $75,000 to local community organizations throughout the month.
The Day of Giving program empowered AP team members, friends and family to give back to their communities. Employees received paid time off to spend a portion of their workday to volunteer and fundraise for local organizations. Our community involvement efforts extended into five focus areas that support our mission of building trust, communities and people:
“Everyone at AP is dedicated to building stronger communities,” said Al Robinson, foreman at AP. “The Day of Giving allowed us to act on that mission beyond our day-to-day projects. I am inspired by the teamwork and dedication of the AP employees, friends and family who volunteered. I’m honored to be part of an organization that has such a significant impact on the communities where we live, work and play.”
AP regional offices and job sites found causes that were meaningful to their teams and worked together to give back to their communities. Dozens of local charities, causes and projects were identified and selected, including:
The AP team also held its sixth-annual Charity Golf Classic in September at Golf Clubs at The Tribute in The Colony, Texas, raising more than $130,000 to provide financial assistance to support veterans and at-risk youth in their communities. Proceeds benefited PGA HOPE, Dallas CASA and The Ashford Rise School of Dallas.
“The Day of Giving program brought together our people and their communities while giving back and engaging with those in need,” said Jeff Hansen, CEO. “Supporting our communities reflects our core values. We are excited about the impact of the first year and cannot wait to continue this legacy in the future through focused giving and community service across our many regions and offices.”
AP has historically provided donations and service in the communities it operates, supporting at-risk children and adults, military veterans, disaster relief and rebuilding, local food banks, hospitals and health organizations, schools, and other nonprofits and charitable foundations. The Day of Giving program builds on that service and those relationships to provide a more focused and meaningful giving effort.
