AP Project Wins TEXO Distinguished Building Awards

Plano, Texas – TEXO, Texas’ largest construction industry trade association, recently named an AP Gulf States project as part of its 2024 Distinguished Building Awards. Building 18 of the Billingsley Company’s International Business Park was named a 2024 Distinguished Building Award Winner.

“It was a true honor for Building 18 at the International Business Park to earn a TEXO Distinguished Building Award Winner. This is further evidence of how our team worked closely to create such a high-quality facility,” said Will Pender, President of the AP Gulf States Region. “We are thankful for all of the hard work of our teams and trade partners on this project with Billingsley.”

Business Park Building 18 is a five-story, 242,000-square-foot building located northwest of President George Bush Turnpike (SH 190) and one block from the Dallas North Tollway in Plano, Texas. AP managed construction on the project, which included a tilt-wall core/shell office building; a three-level, 180,000-square-foot parking garage with 584 spaces; and various site improvements including landscaping and site paving.

The International Business Park is a 300-acre, master-planned campus with 11 buildings and 1.4 million square feet of developed office space in Dallas’ Platinum Corridor, America’s fastest-growing suburban office district. The park is currently home to more than 100 businesses and more than 4,000 employees. AP also built Building 17 that is adjacent to Building 18 within the office park. The four-story, 175,000-square-foot office building and a 9,000-square-foot amenity center with a large fitness center, conference center, and tenant lounge with a curated mini-market, which was completed by AP in June 2020.

The employee-centric building includes a first-floor coffee lounge, and expansive patios just steps away from a large park.

TEXO presented the Distinguished Building Award at the recognition dinner earlier this month.

AP Gulf States has been a distinguished member of TEXO since it was founded in 2009. The association seeks to build the best construction community for North and East Texas. Today, TEXO is one of the country’s largest chapters affiliated with both the National Association of Builders and Contractors and AGC.
