Designed to house four firefighters and one fire engine, Station 20 is an 8,100-sf new community fire station.

South Metro’s 30th fire station, Station 20 reduces response times, projecting the station to respond to 600 and 1,000 calls in the first year. The 1.4 acre site is in close proximity to the Backcountry Wilderness Area — 8,200 acres of open space bordering the southern edge of Highlands Ranch — which typically experiences brush fires in the hot summer months. Only 640 feet from the closest neighbor, and in close proximity to water infrastructure, community coordination is an important part of AP’s project planning.

The new station has seven bedrooms, 2 apparatus bays, a dayroom, fitness area, 2 laundry rooms, kitchen, offices and basement to store wildland gear. Five storage rooms are designed to store bunker gear, EMS supplies, station supplies, tools and outdoor yard tools.
