Adolfson & Peterson Construction Cuts the Ribbon on Hudson Elementary’s Addition & Renovation Project


Hudson, Colo. (August 31, 2018) – On August 14, 2018, Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) cut the ribbon on Hudson Elementary’s Addition and Renovation project.

In attendance were project owner representatives of NV5 and architect representatives of TreanorHL, along with Superintendent of Schools Greg Rabenhorst, Principal Greg Dent, and the Board of Education: Bryan Haffner, Fred Jensen, Erin Grundy, Cindy Baumgartner, and Deb Gustafson.

Weld RE-3J Hudson Elementary School included the addition and renovation of the existing active and occupied elementary school. The addition consisted of a 2-story, 37,801-sf structural steel and masonry building that includes new classrooms, media center, STEM lab, music room, art room and administrative spaces. Renovations to 13,041 sf of the existing school include a new roof, new flooring and life safety upgrades. Additional site work includes new playground pits, landscaping and sidewalks.

“We’re incredibly excited to see these students benefit from the finished building”, said AP Project Manager Jade Mercer. “It was a pleasure working on a project with such strong community backing.”

The project consisted of two phases and was part of the 2016 Bond and received additional funding through the Colorado BEST program. The final phase of the project will wrap up in early November 2018.
