The Mountrail County Courthouse expansion included a two-story addition to the existing jail and historic courthouse. The addition consisted of 22 jail cells used classify inmates based on gender, criminal history, behavior and special needs. The project also included a vehicle sally-port, intake/release, master control, 911 emergency dispatch center, laundry, food service, recreation, jury courtroom, emergency operations center, fully functional sheriff’s department, medical examination, state attorneys department and clerk of courts. The new law enforcement center included the sheriff’s department, emergency operations center dispatch, jail administration, evidence and other support spaces. Courtrooms are located on the second floor, providing separation from the public and jail population.
