Overview

The new District Courthouse for Potter County replaces the county’s previous 35-year-old facility with a modern, five-story courthouse totaling approximately 158,000 square feet in Amarillo. The building includes courtrooms, jury assembly areas, in-custody holding, county offices, and records storage, with carefully planned circulation that separates public access from secure sheriff, judicial, and staff areas.

More about the project

Constructed with a structural steel frame and exterior masonry and stone veneer, the project was delivered through a collaborative effort that included $2 million in value engineering to align with the County’s budget while preserving the original design intent. The new courthouse provides enhanced security, improved operational efficiency, and a long term civic facility designed to support the county’s continued growth.
