The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) Sunrise East project consisted of an 8,330 sf interior renovation to the east portion of the existing “Sunrise” building. The new facility provides 30 beds for the Community Preparation Services program at the MSOP St. Peter, which included bedrooms, toilet rooms, living/dining areas and treatment spaces.
The project included demolition of existing partitions, ceilings, mechanical and electrical systems and other interior construction. Also included in the projects’ scope were the replacement of exterior windows and doors in renovation area with aluminum framed fenestration; steel stud and concrete masonry unit interior partitions and insulated furring around inside of exterior walls; installation of new food service equipment in dining area; new plumbing, HVAC and electrical and security electronics systems in renovated area. Additional work in the basement included the replacement of plumbing in crawl space below, new steam-to-hot water exchange system, new data/telecom racks and removal of the existing electrical transformer. This project also included the replacement of existing air handling equipment in mechanical penthouse, installation of new transformer outside building, related roof flashing and curbs.
