The Ward County Jail project was a 74,000 sf multi-story addition to the existing building framed out of structural steel with structural precast exterior walls. The addition included 100 cells which were constructed from steel wall panels, master control, day rooms, recreation areas, holding, booking, laundry, intake and an upgrade to existing kitchen. Outside the secure perimeter, the new addition houses a fully functional sheriff’s office consisting of work spaces, truck dock, locker rooms, interview areas, conference rooms and training rooms, among other amenities. Other important features include an emergency operations center dispatch, jail administration, evidence and other support spaces.
