Overview

AP provided preconstruction for the new Organic Recycling facility and constructed two new recycle recovery process lines at the Recycling & Energy Center (R&E Center). These process lines are designed to recover recyclables from mixed municipal solid waste. One line increases the capacity of the existing steel and aluminum can recovery systems, while the other uses robotic sorting to extract food scraps from the waste stream. The Food Scraps Bag program involves the use of durable compost bags, which can be picked up curbside or delivered by residents to the plant. The project also includes loading docks for haulers, a resident drop-off area for Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), and new educational spaces.
