SAN ANTONIO – Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) recently completed construction on the interior build-out of San Antonio’s Methodist Healthcare System Centralized Lab. Construction began in early 2026, and the facility expects to be fully operational by early 2027.

Located at 5726 W. Hausman Road, the $6.2 million project delivered a 14,000-square-foot interior commercial build-out with select exterior site improvements to support a centralized medical testing laboratory. The facility includes specialized laboratory spaces, administrative offices, a breakroom, receiving and distribution areas and additional support spaces designed to promote efficient operations and streamlined workflows.

Situated in a one-story office park building, AP’s scope of work included the demolition of existing tenant improvements, a complete interior build-out and new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, medical gas and IT systems. AP also installed an owner-provided 35-ton exterior generator to ensure uninterrupted power, a critical requirement for the storage of sensitive specimens.

This centralized lab represents a critical addition to healthcare infrastructure in Central Texas,” said Taylor Starr, Senior Project Manager at AP. “In partnership with Methodist Healthcare and HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services, our team leveraged our healthcare construction expertise to deliver a highly functional, compliant laboratory environment designed to support efficient operations and reliable service delivery.

The project reflects AP’s continued healthcare construction expertise across Texas and the broader Southwestern United States. AP previously completed the expansion of the emergency room at Methodist Landmark Hospital in San Antonio.
