AP Breaks Ground on Silverthorne Childcare Facility

Edwards, Colo. (June 21, 2022) – On a warm afternoon among project partners and the community, Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) celebrated the beginning of constructing the Silverthorne Childcare Facility.

Working with the Town of Silverthorne, Silverthorne Childcare Authority and Summit County, along with owner’s representative NV5, the Silverthorne Early Childcare Facility will have six classrooms servicing infants, toddlers and pre-k students. The building, currently under design by Wold Architects, will likely be a single story, wood-framed 8,900-sf facility. The facility will be built over the next year to meet a high priority need for the growing community.

The Town of Silverthorne dedicated a 1.85 acre tract of land at the intersection of Adams Ave. and Ruby Road for the project. The project is largely financed by Summit County and the Town of Silverthorne. The project will be permitted through Summit County and the Town of Silverthorne and will go through the Land Use Development process.

“It’s an honor to be a part of what this center will offer the community,” says Construction Manager Tom Bailey. “Building facilities that help educate future generations and provide great opportunities to childcare workers, parents and guardians in this community is what makes this work worthwhile.”

The honorary celebration included speeches and a ceremonial groundbreaking with community leaders and project partners to represent the start of the project.
