AP Celebrates Success of Charity Golf Classic

Frisco, Texas – AP Gulf States hosted its ninth annual Charity Golf Classic on Oct. 25 at Cowboys Golf Club raising a record-breaking $180,000. 144 participants and supporters gathered for a day of golf and giving back to local organizations focused on education efforts and assisting people in need.  The sold-out event’s success can be credited to the help of the 36 sponsors who helped make this year’s tournament possible.

The tournament launched in 2016 and has raised more than $100,000 each year. In that time, AP Gulf States’ Charity Golf Classic has given back nearly $744,000 to North Texas nonprofit organizations.

This year’s event raised over $180,000, with more than $118,000 donated equally to The Salvation Army of North Texas and the TEXO Foundation. These funds will support transformative programs and essential resources for those in need.

The Salvation Army of North Texas – the region’s largest social service provider – addresses addiction, homelessness and poverty while delivering critical services across Dallas, Tarrant, Ellis, Denton and Collin counties.

The TEXO Foundation supports workforce development through educator conferences, student competitions and scholarships, as it helps educate, recruit, train and retain the next generation of construction professionals.

“Our ninth annual Charity Golf Classic was a tremendous success, bringing our community together in support of causes close to our hearts,” said Granger Hassman, Regional President of AP Gulf States.  “Raising over $180,000 speaks to the remarkable generosity of our sponsors, participants and volunteers. We are incredibly proud that these funds will make a meaningful impact on the lives of at-risk youth and our community’s most vulnerable.”
