Columbia Heights Membrane Filtration Plant Retrofitting

This project involves retrofitting the Minneapolis Water Works Columbia Heights Filtration Plant, which has been in operation for nearly 90 years. The facility will produce a maximum of 70 million gallons per day. It will improve filtration well beyond regulatory requirements and consistently yield low turbidity filtered water and high log removal of microbial contaminants such as viruses. At the time of construction, this plant was the largest ultrafiltration treatment plant in the United States and among the largest membrane filtration plants in the world.
