Overview

The NBC Universal studio and office building is a 75,000 square foot, technologically advanced broadcasting and multimedia news facility located on an 8.1 acre site in the Centre Port Business Park in Fort Worth. The building brings together the Dallas Fort Worth NBC news team and the Telemundo news team under one roof, creating a centralized headquarters for regional news production serving the entire DFW metroplex. The facility includes multiple production studios, three HD control rooms, and a 4,000 square foot broadcast data center supporting more than 100 equipment racks and hundreds of video sources that power daily broadcast operations. Situated within the 1,300 acre CentrePort master planned community, the development is surrounded by major corporate tenants including American Airlines, AT&T, and Mercedes Benz.

More about the project

The project also included extensive interior construction and integration of highly specialized broadcast technology systems. Work encompassed studio buildouts, broadcast tower infrastructure, raised access flooring, millwork, finishes, and full MEP installation, along with a generator package to support continuous operations. The facility’s sophisticated technology infrastructure, featuring satellite and microwave transmission systems and approximately 1.5 million feet of cabling, enables the studio to broadcast both digital television and internet feeds simultaneously, delivering reliable news coverage across the region.
