Johnstown, CO – (February 5, 2025) – Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) announces that Anthony Durst, Vice President Preconstruction, was named the 2024 CTE Champion through the Colorado Association for Career and Technical Administrators (CACTA). The award recognizes Anthony’s dedication to advancing Career and Technical Education in Colorado.
With more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Anthony has made some exceptional contributions. Anthony was recognized for his leadership on the Construction Advisory Board and for Chairing Weld RE-5J’s CTE Advisory Board. He has championed initiatives that have transformed CTE opportunities for students, most recently at Roosevelt High School and Roosevelt Middle School. Anthony was nominated by Gary Luster, Construction Pathway Instructor, from Roosevelt High School.
Within the award application, Dr. Rebecca Albert Vollrath, Director of Career and Innovation at Weld RE-5J and a member of the client team during the construction of Roosevelt High School, commended Anthony’s ability to bring together education and industry. “Anthony’s contributions are a shining example of how industry leaders can partner with educators to create meaningful, hands-on opportunities for students,” she said.
Anthony is a lifelong learner himself and speaks candidly about his passion for community CTE programs. “Industry partners are a key to enhancing hands on education, while empowering students to invest in themselves and shape their personal future.”
Anthony was honored with three other 2024 award winners at a luncheon with an audience of nearly 200 CTE program administrators from across Colorado. In addition to his work in Weld RE-5J, through AP Anthony has been instrumental in the preconstruction efforts for 15 other CTE programs and working through preconstruction efforts on more than 50 PK-12 projects or $1.9B in constructed projects.
