This multi-year project began in 2013 with an effort to transform, renovate and expand the Y’s ability to effectively meet the diverse and growing needs of the Aurora area.
The Aurora Family YMCA at Wheatlands directly supports individuals and families with new and expanded Y programs for healthy living, aquatics safety, childcare, education and teen leadership. Moreover, the Y will be a resource for low-income and minority families to bolster health outcomes, reduce drop-out rates, improve academic success and promote child safety.
The YMCA is an asset to the Aurora community and a gathering place for fitness, friendships, families and connections.
Encompassing an estimated 40,000 square feet and surrounded by city parks, walking paths, ball fields and open space, the Aurora Family YMCA features:
