Manhattan High School West Campus and Bishop Stadium

Originally built in 1955, the modernization of West High School in Manhattan, KS entailed a 78,000-sf addition and a 270,000-sf renovation. AP and Gould Evans Associates worked collaboratively with the District, the school and the community to sequence expedited construction activities and allow the school to remain fully occupied during construction. Through a conscientious preconstruction and implementation process, the project team was able to shave a full year off of the original three-year construction schedule. New and revitalized components include flex-use classrooms and meeting spaces, science labs, applied technology labs, special education spaces, a new cafeteria, library and computer labs. Additional work included improvements to the District’s sports stadium.
