The replacement high school for Boulder Valley School District’s New Vista Theatrical School spans more than 74,000 sf. The project is a two-story building built on 767 drilled aggregate piers. Surrounded by a busy highway, the adjacent CU Boulder campus, and a bustling neighborhood, the project management plan required close coordination and strict adherence to quiet hours meaning zero building activities before 7 am. The project overcame several challenges on a campus where the occupied and existing building was just 10 feet away from the new structure’s building envelope. After building occupation, the district commenced demolition activities ahead of AP’s final scope of building new athletic fields.
