Overview

Adolfson & Peterson Construction delivered the new Haslet Elementary School for Northwest Independent School District, a two-story, 100,431-square-foot replacement facility designed to foster collaborative learning and adaptability. The school features classrooms, flexible learning areas, a cafeteria, auditorium, gymnasium, and administrative offices.

At the heart of the building is a learning commons and library designed to evoke a treehouse atmosphere, with classrooms and additional focus spaces surrounding the commons. Movable walls allow for flexible teaching and adaptable class sizes, while expansive curtain walls bring in abundant natural light throughout the school.

More about the project

The project also included a dedicated storm shelter, which required detailed preconstruction coordination and careful sequencing during construction. Site enhancements include outdoor courtyards accessible from classrooms, recreational fields, playground areas, decorative flatwork, new parking, and paving, creating a functional and inviting campus environment.

This project demonstrates AP’s expertise in delivering innovative, student-centered educational facilities that combine functionality, flexibility, and thoughtful design.
