Overview

The campus expansion at Park Cities Presbyterian Church transformed and modernized the historic church campus while preserving its architectural heritage within the Park Cities neighborhood of Dallas. The project included a 67,000-square-foot addition and nearly 67,000 square feet of renovation to the church’s existing 70-year-old facility, along with the acquisition of nearly two additional acres to expand the campus footprint.

More about the project

The expansion introduces new spaces designed to strengthen the church’s ministry and community outreach. Key features include a dedicated children’s ministry area, an early care and education program, and a new youth ministry space anchored by a full-size high school gymnasium. The project also created expanded indoor and outdoor gathering areas, including a welcoming Grand Foyer, courtyard, coffee bar, and bookstore that foster connection among congregants and the surrounding community.

To address long-standing parking constraints, the project incorporated a subterranean parking garage and expanded surface parking, increasing total on-site parking from 157 spaces to approximately 400. The new parking configuration improves campus accessibility while reducing traffic congestion in the surrounding neighborhood.

The design carefully preserved the church’s neo-Gothic architectural character through the use of complementary materials and detailing, including masonry, custom wood timber trusses, and glass fiber reinforced gypsum elements that replicate traditional cast stone. These architectural features, combined with modern ministry and community spaces, create a cohesive campus that blends historic character with contemporary functionality.
