Originally constructed in 2007, the Maplewood Library encompassed approximately 31,000 sf. It was designed to house library collections and included dedicated spaces for a children’s and a teens library. The lobby, now-closed cafĂ©, and community program room were all designed as community gathering spaces.
Serving an average of 144,000 visitors annually, this library is a staple to the community. The Maplewood Library Renovation Project was launched to address several issues impacting the library’s functionality, comfort, and services. Key elements of the project included furniture upgrades, acoustics, sightlines, collection area locations, enhanced security, and main lobby functionality.
