Overview

The St. David’s Surgical Hospital campus in Austin is an 8.5 acre medical development anchored by a 145,000 square foot, four story surgical hospital designed to support advanced patient care and specialized procedures. The facility includes 46 patient rooms with a mix of private inpatient rooms, family suites, and intensive care beds, along with 10 operating rooms, two procedure rooms, an emergency department, and full ancillary services. The campus also features an 81,088 square foot, four story medical office building constructed with a cast in place concrete structure that houses comprehensive imaging services, a pharmacy, laboratory services, and a blood bank.

Supporting the medical campus is a five story, 181,000 square foot parking structure with capacity for 500 vehicles, constructed with a precast concrete system and finished with painted precast panels accented by stone and metal detailing. The project included a full mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design build approach, featuring a central plant with water cooled chillers, a heat pump chiller providing both chilled and heating water, hot water and steam boilers, and a dedicated MRI cooling system. Emergency power is supported by a generator and automatic transfer switches, while a centralized battery UPS system maintains continuous power to critical technology systems during generator transitions, ensuring reliable hospital operations.
