Overview

The Marq Southlake is a 105,200 square foot multi-purpose community center designed by Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture, situated within Bicentennial Park. The facility features a spacious lobby with high-end finishes and exceptional craftsmanship throughout, along with a large outdoor amphitheater and pedestrian bridge integrated into the park setting. The Senior Activity Center includes a club lounge, game parlor, fitness room, café, and the Dick McCauley Library, complemented by 1,380 square feet of covered outdoor patio space with lounge seating and fire features for year-round use.

More about the project

The event center, Legends Hall, offers 23,000 square feet of flexible meeting and function space with a catering kitchen to support city events and generate revenue. Movable partitions allow the ballroom and meeting rooms to be configured into six separate conference or breakout areas. The project required careful site management due to its location on a tight, sloping site near a canal, high pedestrian and vehicle traffic, and existing park amenities including a baseball field and tennis courts. Construction sequencing and site isolation measures ensured public safety and minimized disruption, while weather delays prompted schedule adjustments. Throughout the project, high-end finishes were applied across all building interiors, providing a sophisticated and versatile facility for community and city events.
