At the time of building, the Aquatic Center is one of only two Myrtha (Olympic pool provider) pools in Texas. It provides a safe learning environment and a state-of-the-art competition pool for Lewisville Independent School District student athletes and the community. The facility consists of two pools; one 50 meter pool for diving and competition swimming and one smaller pool for competition warm-ups and community use. Additionally, there are dressing rooms and a community classroom on the first floor, as well as a weight room. Large windows allow northern natural light to enter the facility and provide a very light, non-glare environment. The facility also utilizes an advanced dehumidification system that pulls warmer water from the surface of the competition pool and circulates that water through the HVAC equipment, allowing for “faster” more competitive conditions. The 1,200 seat facility accommodates large diving and swimming competitions.
