The Math, Science, and Engineering Teaching and Learning Center at University of Texas at Dallas is a three story, 75,000 square foot academic facility designed to support early year instruction in mathematics, physics, chemistry, geosciences, and engineering. Constructed with a concrete and structural steel system and clad in architectural precast and glass, the building is integrated into a tight campus site and connects directly to two existing campus buildings. The facility provides a comprehensive environment for both teaching and research, featuring a lecture hall, recitation areas, instructional laboratories, faculty and tutor offices, and shell space for future program expansion.
Designed to support innovative learning methods, the center incorporates advanced instructional technologies and specialized measurement systems that allow faculty to study and improve teaching and learning practices in mathematics and the sciences. In addition to supporting freshman and sophomore coursework, the building serves as a major research hub for the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, where faculty develop evidence based approaches to education that extend from university level instruction through the broader K to 12 learning continuum.
