This is a multi-campus addition and renovation project as part of Garland Independent School District’s Bid Package 3.3. included the addition and renovation of Luna Elementary School, Abbett Elementary School, and Hudson Middle School.
Hudson Middle School included the addition and renovation of the existing active and occupied middle school. The addition consisted of a 2-story, 37,801-sf structural steel and masonry structure that included new classrooms, a media center, a STEM lab, a music room, an art room, and administrative spaces. Renovations to 13,041 sf of the existing school included a new roof, new flooring, and life safety upgrades. Phase two included additional site work, new playground pits, landscaping, and sidewalks.
Abbett Elementary School scope included interior renovation classrooms, restrooms, hallways offices, and site accessibility upgrades. Also includes HVAC system replacement, plumbing, and electrical work associated with ADA and new equipment installation.
Luna Elementary School scope included fine arts areas, replacement of mechanical systems, HVAC improvements (RTU’s, FCU’s, Fans), replacement of electrical and fire suppression systems throughout, renovation of existing restrooms, replacement of doors/hardware for ADA compliance, the creation of a secure vestibule, security upgrades, roof repair, flooring replacement, new labs, interior finish renovation of classrooms, restrooms, admin offices and hallways and plumbing work associated w/ADA.
