This new P-5 facility thrives amidst surrounding homes on a 10-acre site. Construction began in April 2023 following a successful bond passage in November 2022. With a capacity for 600 K-5 students and 64 preschoolers, the facility features 100-student Small Learning Communities (SLCs) across two stories, equipped with technology resources and efficient teacher workrooms. A centralized media hub and STEM maker-space promote interdisciplinary learning and fitness, music, and cafeteria areas serve as communal hubs.
With the bond, the district approved two new ‘protoype’ elementary schools. In addition to Hollister Lake Elementary, AP built Orchard Hill, another P-5 elementary with a slightly staggered schedule to create a more efficient build that accounted for lessons learned at Hollister Lake and tiered subcontractor schedules to allow for build efficiencies. These two schools underscored the district’s commitment to modern, inclusive education in neighboring communities.
