Madison PK8

This newly constructed PK-8 school replaced an outdated and undersized K-5 school on the same site to better serve the north Greeley community. Our plans for early project phasing, early procurement, site safety and plan to address supply chain issues helped us to win the project and ultimately succeed in constructing the facility on time and on budget. AP utilized survey prisms for establishing consistent surveying and quality control across a site that had a significant grade change, including main level elevation differences. Madison’s 1st floor stepped 5’ across the building to accommodate the grade change on the site and the constraints of building in the middle of the existing neighborhood. The new building includes a middle school wing with flexible smart labs for hands-on learning, a large media center, aerobics/fitness classroom, large serving kitchen, fine arts classrooms, new gymnasium with stage and music classroom, fine arts wing, outdoor learning areas and special education amenities. The site includes reconfigured traffic flow to better accommodate parents and the school’s neighbors, stormwater detention, outdoor fields and play/skill areas and retaining walls to manage the site grade changes.
