Overview

Renovations and additions to Midlothian ISD’s Heritage High School transformed the campus into a modern, future-focused learning environment designed to support the district’s growing student population. The project included a 185,000-square-foot addition featuring a new two-story classroom wing with science labs, a storm shelter integrated within a new drill and competition gym, and significant expansions to Fine Arts, athletics, and student support spaces.

More about the project

Fine Arts enhancements include a new auditorium, expanded band and choir halls with ensemble rooms, and multiple sound rooms to support student performance and collaboration. Additional improvements encompass cafeteria and weight room expansions, new locker rooms, a turf practice field, upgraded parking areas, and a reimagined school entrance highlighted by a sweeping cast stone wall, brick pavers, and enhanced landscaping.

Sustainability and innovation were key components of the project. A geothermal heat pump system provides energy-efficient heating and cooling throughout the campus. Modern educational spaces such as a teaching kitchen, journalism and broadcasting room, Learning Stair, and advanced video production capabilities within the competition gym create hands-on opportunities that support both academic and extracurricular growth.

The finished campus reflects Midlothian ISD’s commitment to innovative learning, community engagement, and long-term student success.
